Andy Miller Bio
Andy Miller has twenty years in sales with thirteen years'
experience as a sales and sales management speaker and has
differentiated himself as one of the few professionals in
the field prepared to link his fees with clients'
increases in performance and sales.
Prior to starting www.smguru.com Andy was a partner at the Sandler Sales Institute
of Virginia where he specialized in helping CEO's and Senior Vice Presidents of Sales
increase the results of their sales force through individual executive coaching and
consultative sales training for high-power sales account executives. Andy's clients
included high tech companies, manufacturers, financial services, gas and oil,
entrepreneurs and venture capitalists throughout Europe, Asia and Australia.
He was featured on CNN and in Sales and Marketing Management, Selling Power,
Newsweek, Success and Your Company Magazines and shared the stage with speaking
greats Jay Abraham, Denis Waitley, Brian Tracy, Mark Victor Hansen and Zig Ziglar.
Prior to building his franchise into one of the best-performing operations within
the Sandler family, Andy served as Vice President of International Sales and equity
partner of Raxco Inc, a company specializing in system and performance software
for the DEC market. Andy opened 12 offices throughout Europe, Asia and Australia
for Raxco, and, under his leadership, in three years grew the International
division to account for 60% of the company's revenues before the company
was purchased by a venture capitalist. His success building Raxco's
International Sales division led to a three-year engagement in government
sales for Computer Associates, Inc. selling to DOD, Treasury, US Customs
and the Intel community.
Andy has owned four businesses and is a current member of YEO/WEO. Previously
he was a 6-year member of the CEO Club Peer Advisory Counsel that evaluates
businesses on a monthly basis. He is on the board of the United Professional
Sales Association (UPSA) and previously sat on the advisory board to Objective
Management Group and to Sandler Selling Systems.
Andy earned a BS in Psychology and Sociology with a diploma in Computer Science.
He was one of the first 5 salespersons certified through CMSI in 1997 and among
the first 10 certified by UPSA in 2003. In accordance with the International
Standards Organization he completes 40 hours of continuing education credits
each year in the areas of sales, human relations, communications and business.
